Ghost in the Shell
It was great. There were so many things that made it seem like it could be made now, not in the 1990s. You can also see the influence it has on well-known and newer sci-fi movies that we have seen. One of the being the Matrix, which was inspired by Ghost in the Shell. The directors, the Wachowskis, were inspired to make their famous franchise because of the anime movie. The story about cyborgs protecting their city seems a little basic for a sci-fi movie, but the deeper meaning behind it made it better. The idea of what makes us human and how we define it is stands center stage in the movie. That was all of thought about when watching the movie. In my essay, it mostly talked about the idea of choice making us human. By talking it away, we lose our trait of what makes us human. Throughout the movie, the characters are given the choice to many things, but the robot part of them interferes with that.
I talk about it more in my essay about the movie, but for know that is all I have.
Down below are my notes from watching the movie:

_________________________________________________________________________
Motoko
Cyborg
Mix of muscles and robotic features
Liquid to make the skin of the cyborg
Like Westworld
Divided in sections
A revolution took place before the movie
Puppet Master
Starting to hack the brain in order to get to their ghost
Maybe American
On the Most Wanted list
Outdated virus
Conscious = Ghost
The Puppet Master is teaching people to hack into cyborgs’ mind
Wearing the therm-optics that cyborgs have
The dude was hacked by the Puppet Master and is “hacked really badly”
Dude was programmed to think he was part of a milita, but he waas just a thug
Garbage dude
Was hacked by the Puppet Master
Simulated experience
Thought he was married and had a daughter
All of it was a lie
In order to hack the ghost of someone
Someone’s life memories can just be a “drop in the bucket”
Thoughts and memories are all uniquely her
She feels like she is confined
Her thoughts had a different tone to it
Almost every sci-fi movie is very rainy
The cyborg-woman from Megatech turned on by herself
Megatech is run by the government
No ghost found, but something else
Motoko was created by Megatech and the other cyborgs had their other parts from there
Motoko wanted to put herself in the situation before anyone dies
She is now questioning her existence
The only thing that makes her feel human is knowing that there are brain cells in her head
There are no cyborgs in Section 6
They usually communicate with their minds and thoughts
The woman found by the police is a product of the Puppet Master
The cyborg is using its own energy to activate
A memory cannot be defined, but it can defined mankind
“Modern science or philosophy cannot tell us what life is”
Project 2501
Living, thinking thing created in the sea of information
Destroy the cyborg for instruction
I feel like Motoko is the first of her kind
First of a really advanced cyborg
Dr. Willis
American
Worked with Datia
The project was created before the puppet master began its hacking
They were trying to get Project 2501 aka Puppet Master out of the possession of the police
Batou doesn’t care about killing people even if they are not the person
Notes
Inspired the Wachowskis (creator of the Matrix)
Set in 2029
The entity in her body is both her and the Pupper Master
